How can technology enrich and empower our lives and work? Where is technology moving and, more importantly, where are we moving with it? These are some of the questions that have been a guiding force in Christina Brodersens work for more than 10 years at the Computer Science Department at Aarhus University. Christina's work has one common denominator: a strong belief that all successful technologies must be designed not only with the future users in mind but actively engaging them in the design process. Thus, working closely with teachers and students came natural during the NetWorking.Kids-project and iSchool research project at Centre for Interactive Spaces where the following questions were explored and answered: Why should teaching be limited to the classroom when technology allows the teachers and students to learn through hands-on experiences in the "real world"? How can mobile phones turn students into reporters? How can we utilize the school's physical space and create a living and radiant learning environment? |
